The drivers are kept on the road.
California lawmakers have embraced a variety of efforts to make the state's freeways and streets safer. The man issued late last year. He pointed to new laws that expand the use of automated speed cameras, stop license-plate obstruction and invest in "safer, more inclusive street design." The state ignores the most obvious way to improve road safety: remove the licenses of drivers who have a history of driving dangerously. CalMatters released a report called "License to Kill" that showed California's inexplicable willingness to allow the deadliest drivers to keep driving. The Department of Motor Vehicles had little to say. The report states that the Department of Motor Vehicles allows drivers with histories of dangerous driving, including crashes and numerous tickets, to continue to drive. Too many times they go on to kill....

From refugees to power brokers, Little Saigon became a political force.
In 1984 volunteers stood outside supermarkets in Orange County to help fellow Vietnamese Americans register to vote. One of them was a freshman at UC Irvine. The Republican Party launched an effort to reach out to the growing Vietnamese population in the area when Ronald Reagan was up for reelection. The GOP sent volunteers to the Little Vietnamese community to get them more involved in politics. Anti-communism was at the forefront of the Reagan administration's foreign policy agenda, and many Vietnamese Americans of that generation were strongly supportive of the president. The local party took advantage of the issues for the refugees as well as a strong national defense and anti-communism and built upon that, according to the first Vietnamese American to serve in a state legislature. Before the 1984 election, there were activists who came into the community to help set up the Vietnamese American Republican headquarters. It was one of the first signs of political power coming from the largest Vietnamese population outside Vietnam....

A mother is fighting against forced union dues.
I have worked for San Bernardino County for almost 14 years, and I have relied on a supposedly secure government job with benefits. I have had to work overtime to cover rent, food, car repairs, and medical expenses for my child. The positives are job security, cost-of-living adjustments, longevity pay and a pension. There has been a constant toll from the techniques used by my employer and the union. A sleight of hand maneuver that exhausts those of us living paycheck to paycheck is the case in point. I did not start my job with strong opinions about unions. Six years ago, after three years of negative experiences with representation matters, I opted out of the Teamsters after learning from Freedom Foundation flyers that I had a choice. The union can violate and take away workers' rights if it strays off course....

A nail salon employee pleaded guilty to holding 13 remote IT jobs.
Minh Phuong Ngoc Vong will be sentenced in August after he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud. Authorities say Vong is part of a fake IT worker scheme that funds North Korea's illegal nuclear weapons and missile program. Vong's U.S. identity was used to get more than a dozen remote tech jobs, some of which involved contract work for sensitive government agencies, according to authorities. A 40-year-old Maryland man is facing decades in prison after he allegedly worked with foreign nationals in China to get remote work IT jobs with at least 13 different U.S. companies. According to the Department of Justice, the jobs paid him more than $970,000 in salary for software development tasks that were actually performed by operatives authorities believe are North Korean. The China-based developers used the company IT jobs, some of which involved contracting out software services to U.S. government agencies, to get access to highly sensitive government systems. According to the Department of Justice, the Maryland man's scheme is part of a vast fraud operation in which trained North Korean nationals work with American facilitators to fraudulently obtain remote-work IT jobs under various identities, do the work from Russia or China, and then illegally remit their salaries to Kim Americans who have pleaded guilty to hosting computer farms, where they keep dozens of company-issued laptops in their homes for a fee so that it appears the work is being done in the U.S., are among the dozens of indictments in the conspiracy....

The PCH stretch near the fire area is open again.
A portion of Pacific Coast Highway in the Malibu area has been reopened after being closed due to debris slides. There was a lot of mud at Tuna Canyon Road. Now closed at Sunset Blvd. For a better turn around. The agency said earlier Saturday that debris was blocking both directions of PCH at Topanga Canyon Boulevard, La Tuna and Big Rock. Vehicles were being escorted out of Topanga Canyon and Carbon Beach Terrace because there was no access between them. The Los Angeles City Emergency Management Department reported at 8:26 a.m. Sunday that PCH has re-opened to the same soft closure in effect since January's wildfires and subsequent rains, only open to residents with burn scar passes, contractors, emergency responders and designated Metro. There was a chance of some showers in North Hollywood and Sunland on Sunday evening, but most of the region was expected to dry out on Sunday....

A new law came into being on April 10, 2025. The debt slavery that was instituted worldwide almost one hundred years ago is nullified by this law. Edward Mandel House wrote a letter to President Wilson in 1919 saying that every American would have to register their property in a national system to keep track of people. This system of debt went around the world. The Birth Bond can no longer be used to back the ponzi scheme against living men and women.
